NEMRA celebrates the stars behind the network’s 2020/21 achievements.

The IRIC-ECRU Project Team

NEMRA Run its first funded project in 2020/21. Lead by Professor Godfrey Asiimwe, the project run research capacity building activities for PhD students and Early career researchers. Other members of the team were Assoc. Professor Kukunda E Bacwayo, Dr. Medard Twinamatsiko, Dr. Norman Mukasa, Dr. Loice Natukunda, Dr. Christine Mwebesa, Ms. Anita Ashaba, Mr. Vincent Ssekitoleko and Mr. Dickson Tumuramye. Professor Vincent Kakembo

Professor Vincent Kakembo is the Vice chancellor of Mutesa I Royal University, the academic institution that hosts the NEMRA Secretariat. Well done Professor Kakembo and MRU management for the immense contribution you make to the smooth running of NEMRA’s operations.

The NEMRA Board of Directors

Led by Professor Stella Neema, the Board took on their strategic oversight role with zeal as soon as they were elected in September 2020. Notably, the Board developed NEMRA’s 2020-2024 strategic plan that details the network’s vision and the roadmap for achieving it.

They have also developed key guidelines for the operation of the network including the NEMRA manual, guidelines on recruitment and terms of reference for the NEMRA Executive Committee as well as streamlining NEMRA membership policies. Well done NEMRA Board. #NEMRAStars  

Professor William Bazeyo

Professor Bazeyo is NEMRA’s Technical Advisor on Research funding and resources mobilisation. He again offered unwavering commitment to his role and great support in 2020/2021.
